Lessons from the Arena
We don’t want to be so focused on the goal that we lose relationship.
Choose faith over fear.
Be persistent, have boundaries but allow for freedom to be who you are.
Clear leadership provides direction and protection.
We can’t make anyone else follow a plan, we can only follow our own and influence others.
Receive from others, set boundaries for rest and connection.
Don’t underestimate my power to influence systems (with God all things are possible).
God is with me at all times, and He will provide—we don’t have to carry/do it all.
We can focus on healthy relationships and have boundaries with unhealthy situations.
What am I gripping so tightly (the lead rope) that causes pain (rope burn)?
I need to quit trying to fix something I can’t control—it’s not my job (it’s God’s).
There is a correlation between compassion fatigue and self-care.
Sometimes we have to embrace a season of healing, before setting out to help and give again.
Making connections with people and building relationships takes effort and action.
